Supertramp

Supertramp es un grupo británico de rock fundado en 1969 por Rick Davies, Roger Hodgson, Richard Palmer y Robert Millar. Aunque su música fue definida como rock progresivo, tras la salida de Palmer y Millar y la entrada de John Helliwell, Bob Siebenberg y Dougie Thomson,  se transformó en rock sinfónico (en el que se usan instrumentos clásicos) en álbumes como Crisis? What Crisis? y Even in the Quietest Moments, en los que se combinan composiciones de Davies y de Hodgson, con un uso predominante del piano eléctrico Wurlitzer y del saxofón.
El grupo gozó de gran éxito comercial y de crítica a finales de la década de 1970 y comienzos de la década de 1980 con la publicación del álbum Breakfast in America, que vendió más de veinte millones de copias en Estados Unidos, y con la difusión de canciones como «Goodbye Stranger», «The Logical Song», «Give a Little Bit» y «Take the Long Way Home», entre otras.
Tras la marcha de Hodgson en 1983, Davies tomó las riendas de Supertramp y publicó álbumes de menor repercusión comercial como Brother Where You Bound y Free as a Bird, con amplios periodos de inactividad musical. En 2002, Supertramp publicó Slow Motion, su último álbum de estudio hasta la fecha, y en 2010 emprendió la gira 70-10 Tour con motivo del 40º aniversario de la formación del grupo.



 Supertramp is a British rock band founded in 1969 by Rick Davies, Roger Hodgson, Richard Palmer and Robert Millar. Although his music was defined as progressive rock, following the departure of Palmer and Millar and John Helliwell input, Bob and Dougie Thomson Siebenberg, became symphonic rock (which used classical instruments) on albums like Crisis? What Crisis? Even in the Quietest and Moments, in which compositions combine Davies and Hodgson, with a predominant use of the Wurlitzer electric piano and saxophone.

The band enjoyed great commercial and critical success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with the publication of the album Breakfast in America, which has sold over twenty million copies in the United States, and with the spread of songs like "Goodbye Stranger", "The Logical Song", "Give a Little Bit" and "Take the Long Way Home", among others.
Following the departure of Hodgson in 1983, Davies took over and Supertramp albums released less commercial impact as Brother Where You Bound and Free as a Bird, with extensive musical downtime. In 2002, Supertramp Slow Motion released their last studio album to date, and in 2010 undertook the tour Tour 70-10 to mark the 40th anniversary of the formation of the group.
